Event - Doom 3: The Flashlightning - Part 1

As you've probably read, this post kicks off this next event.

What wasn't mentioned by the Colonel was a few important things. Namely, the devices that are being installed are dangerous. As a matter of fact, every time one is tested, it rips a gash in time and space. Sometimes, absolutely nothing comes from these gashes. Other times, ships or even monstrous creatures try to escape from these gashes but are turned back or destroyed by waiting ships. And even other times, people are rescued as they fly out from these rips.

For any characters who have psychic abilities or are empaths, these rips in space will cause severe headaches and mild fear when they're open.

I'll be taking questions and plotting ideas from players in the comments. If you guys want to do anything, let me know. Rescue scientists, join in on testing, or do something crazy; I'm open to anything. You're also free to contact me in private, if you wish.

This is probably still the sleep deprivation talking but what devices are these being installed into exactly?

No problem. If anyone takes the time to look, they'll find that they're installing a kind of FTL Drive. One that, instead of folding space or ducking into subspace, tears holes into whatever lies beyond.

So, yeah, hey, what's the possibility of someone (cough cough Deadlock) getting like, kidnapped/held for ransom by whatever creepies come through these rifts or someone? Because wow he'd HATE having to be rescued. which in my school of thinking means it must happen
